Please inspect the working status of your extruder weekly: Inspect the wearing parts
⚠️: When metal debris is observed on the extruder gears, the extruder must be cleaned promptly.
¶ 1. Light Cleaning (no need to disassemble the extruder)
¶ 1.1 Steps
- Tools you need: a toothbrush or a wire brush
- Take off the screw and spring on the pressure bar
- Use the brush to clean the internal gears and the external nylon gear.

¶ 2. Deep Cleaning
¶ 2.1 Steps
- Tools you need: M3 hexagonal wrench, a toothbrush or a wire brush
- Take off the blue clip under the extruder and pull out the short PTFE tube
- Remove the three screws from the extruder (Please note, hold the motor to avoid falling off)
- Clean the plastic debris and metal debris in the extruder
- Assemble the extruder and install it on the print head
- Insert the PTFE tube below the extruder and put the blue clip back

Check the gears and shaft
Please pay attention to the metal gears and shaft inside the extruder when cleaning them.
If they are worn-out, please replace the whole extruder unit.
